Last month we discussed essential oils for our little ones. This month we are going to focus on our "Big Kids". Whether you are an experienced practitioner or new to essential oils, using oils on your kids can be a little overwhelming. doTERRA makes it easy with the Kids Collection.

Topical use comes down to a few simple suggestions:

Apply where the issue is located–tummy hurts? Roll around the belly button. Head is filled with tension? Apply to the back of the neck or forehead. Boo-boo? Apply it on or around the area.
Teeth and gums - roll along the jaw and dilute and apply to the gums.
Joints–growing is tough work.
Along the spine for immunity support.
Bottoms of the feet–supports grounding, sleep, and emotions.

👉 There really isn’t a “wrong” place to apply oils topically, just make sure to dilute!

Just like us, kids can also benefit from the 3 ways to essential oils– aromatically, topically, and internally.

👉 Aromatically–whip up your favorite diffuser blends to support their sleep, help with focus during homework hours, and blends to wake them up and promote energy (because we all know kids need more energy 🤣🤣🤣).

👉 Topically–when your little one falls and scrapes their knee, we have an oil for that. When their tummy isn’t feeling quite right, we have an oil for that. You get the picture. Just remember to dilute.

👉 Internally–ahhh teething, perhaps you are there already or you don’t miss it all, but dilute a drop of copaiba and rub on the gums for some quick relief. How about adding some beneficial omegas to their diet with IQ Mega?

Oils are just as effective for little bodies as they are for our bodies, the secret is just using oils properly and safely. 

I know, I know… talking about supplements can be a bit of a bore, but keeping our kids healthy is one of our biggest priorities year-round.

✔️ And start uncapping them and allow your child to take a whiff from the bottle.

✔️ Set aside the oils and blends that they love. 

✔️ Have them choose 2-3 oils from the oils they are loving and smell them together.

✔️ Once you have this dialed in, they have their own scent to use to support their emotional state. Mix up your roller and label it.

Daycare, school, large crowds…all of these are good reasons to keep your child’s immunity in tip-top shape to support their bodies and still allow them to be a kid.
